Melanie was interviewed by The Lawyer’s Daily on her thoughts regarding the recent decision of the Court of Appeal in R. v. Cook, 2020 ONCA 731, where the Court ordered a new trial for a man convicted of several drug offences. This case speaks to the necessity of the Court, defence counsel, and the Crown to remain vigilant throughout trial, and guard against the admission of highly prejudicial evidence.
